THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK HIM IS HOW THE IDEA OF MUSE ROLLING CAME TO HIM OF COURSE!<\/div>\n

\u00ab I have always functioned out of the box. I like to do things differently, in a slightly offbeat way. In 2007 already, I was among the first to travel by scooter and I couldn't find one made in Europe. Now we see them everywhere, so I looked for something else. \u00bb<\/div>\n

\nThierry travels a lot for his professional life. He has always sought the most suitable and ecological option possible. Concerned about nature and the environment, he keeps in mind a real desire to preserve his planet. How does he do this? He doesn't fly for vacation, his personal car runs on gas, and whenever he can, he uses a motorcycle. Or he travels by train as much as possible. And who says train, says small distances to cover, between the station and meeting places. Some would go on foot or by public transport. Thierry covers these distances on a longboard. It saves time, without ever being dependent on a bus or tram timetable. \n

\nWhen it comes to the brake, the story is more personal. For his clients, Thierry must be elegant. The idea of the braking system therefore responded to the desire to move in a fluid and ecological manner, even when braking on the asphalt. \n

\nAdditionally, at age 16, his son suffered a serious accident while skateboarding. With a brake, the fall could certainly have been avoided. Ever since, Thierry has considered a brake to be an essential component, and this has opened up a new world of customers, active city-dwelling adults. \n

\nOriginally from Brittany, Thierry grew up with the sea. What do longboarding and navigation have in common? Softness, gliding, fluidity. \n

AND WHAT DAILY USE DO YOU HAVE FOR THE MUSE ROLLING LONGBOARD?<\/div>\n

\nThe board is really his tool for getting around. He uses it several times a week to go to work. Here, we are not talking about a toy or a hobby. It is a useful object, which makes everyday life easier. In the morning, he takes it, hangs it on his motorbike to go to the station. It\u2019s practical, and contrary to a bicycle for example, he does not have to pay extra on the train. \n

\u00ab I like the idea of the businessman riding a longboard. At the age of 50, I feel like a child-teenager, not quite finished. And I'm no longer ashamed of it. THE FIRST QUESTION IS WHY HE WANTED TO PARTNER WITH MUSE ROLLING?<\/div>\n

\n
\nStraight away, he responds \u00ab because it wasn\u2019t computer science! \u00bb<\/span>. The desire to immerse himself in a new universe, to discover something else, immediately attracted him.\n

\nHe had been thinking about creating his own company for many years, but he had not yet had the idea, and wanted to do it together, to share, not to be alone in the adventure. Thierry's idea immediately appealed to him. It seemed so innovative, he thought \u00ab this could work \u00bb<\/span>.\n

\nAn engineer by training, he completed his first diploma in mechanical manufacturing at the national engineering school of Saint-\u00c9tienne. From the age of 16, he has had a deep passion for everything related to mechanics. First of all, railways, especially steam locomotives. Then trucks, huge 6\u00d76 all-terrain vehicles. He has a workshop at home for manufacturing, tooling and repairing these large vehicles that fascinate him. It\u2019s actually fantastic to listen to him tell all these construction stories. \u00ab Everything interests me, that\u2019s the problem! \u00bb<\/span> he adds, enthusiastically.\n

\nHe then attended the Ecole des Mines in computer software engineering. And it is in this field that he will spend his entire professional career. In multinationals and large companies in the IT field, then pharmaceuticals, and finally banking.\n

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BRING WITH THIS PRODUCT?<\/div>\n

\n\u00ab I want to make my contribution. \u00bb<\/span> He likes the fact that with this project, he can bring pleasure to the owners of their longboards. Because he also appreciates beauty, well-finished, clean objects, like the Muse boards. \u00ab Beautiful work, authentic and careful work \u00bb<\/span> to use his words.\n

\nWhen we talk to him about sustainable mobility, Olivier tells us that he hasn't owned a car in Switzerland for more than 10 years. He only travels by public transport.\n

\n\u00ab Using public transport is a choice. It's not always easy, but it suits me well. I pay attention to our environment. \u00bb<\/span> On the weekend, on the other hand, he regularly has equipment to transport for his leisure activities, and there he has no choice, he sometimes uses his \u201ctoy\u201d, an old English 4X4. But only over small distances.\n

\nAs for the Muse Rolling longboard, he doesn't use it on a daily basis, like Thierry.\n

\u00ab I walk a lot, I take the train, then the bus, and then I walk to work. I have a certain reluctance when it comes to board sports. I'm more into Salsa or swimming. I've never skated, barely skied a little. I'm afraid of falling. So to ride a longboard, I need safety equipment. \u00bb<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

\nEcology and environmental protection are subjects which foster many doubts, and still raise many questions. They frequently are the cause of big speeches and few actions.\n

PERSONALLY, HE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO USE HIS CAR.<\/div>\n

\nOn the other hand, we can choose what kind of car we own, he tells us, to move in the direction of better ecological awareness. As for whether he himself intends to ride a Muse Rolling longboard, he enjoys telling us that he is no longer part of the target group of young dynamic executives whom the board will appeal to.\n

\u00ab At my age, you have to avoid taking risks. But I even think I might be the type to try. On the other hand, I will show it to my family, my children and my ten grandchildren, that's for sure. \u00bb<\/div>\n

\nOriginally from the Vall\u00e9e de Joux, Mr. Meylan was born in Le Sentier and lived there for a large part of his life. Former CEO of the major Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet, he now chairs the Paul-Edouard Piguet Foundation, based in Le Brassus, which supports selected actions aimed at developing the Vall\u00e9e de Joux.
